CONCORD — New Hampshire law enforcement may soon be able to use electronic license plate scanners to identify targeted vehicles after Senate action Thursday. The House has already approved House Bill 1154, which legalizes the use of the license plate scanners that supporters say make law enforcement much more efficient. The Senate approved the bill without changes Thursday, sending it to the governor. Bill supporters said the new technology is helpful in solving serious crimes from around the country while incorporating privacy safeguards. “Many officers divert their attention to search license plates by eye,” said Sen. David Watters, D-Dover. “This much more efficient checking 1,800 a minute from a (national data base).” Other areas:Parental notification Outlawing bestiality Human trafficking State House hours Short-term rentals Liquor commission Reading specialists Read more: www.unionleader.com/article/20160422/NEWS0621/160429784
