Donald Trump's campaign is pressuring Delaware's 16 Republican delegates to pledge their support to him if Trump is unable to lock up the party's presidential nomination by the national convention this July. It appears likely that Trump, who drew thousands to a rally in Harrington on Friday, will win Delaware's winner-take-all primary contest this Tuesday. If he does, all 16 of the state's delegates are required to support him on the first ballot when Republicans gather in Cleveland. But if Trump doesn't have the 1,237 delegates he needs to lock up the nomination, there could be more than one ballot. If that happens, state GOP rules say delegates can support whichever candidate they like — which means Trump could lose some. Acknowledging that reality, his campaign is trying to get as many delegates as possible to say they'll continue to support him after the first ballot.
