HUNTINGTON — Bernie Sanders will become the first major presidential candidate to make a stop in Huntington this election season when he hosts a rally at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena on Tuesday, according to release from his campaign. The Democratic senator from Vermont, who is trailing Hillary Clinton in the delegate count for the nomination, is visiting the city on the same day primary voters will head to the polls in Maryland, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Delaware. West Virginia's primary is May 10. Sanders is expected to talk about removing big money from politics, his plan to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, combating climate change and ensuring universal health care, according to the release. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with Sanders taking the stage at 8:30 p.m. The rally is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVPs can be made on Sanders' campaign website.
