U.S. Marshals: Arson suspect caught after Austin State Hospital escapeA man twice accused of arson, who fled from the Austin State Hospital on Saturday, was arrested Thursday, a U.S. Marshals Service official said. Austin police arrested 28-year-old Kirill Belchenko, who should be escorted to the hospital shortly, said Hector Gomez, a supervisory deputy with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Belchenko had been court-ordered to attend treatment at the Austin State Hospital because of his inability to stand trial in Williamson County as the suspect in an arson investigation, said officials with the Williamson County sheriff’s office. Around 3 p.m. Saturday, Belchenko walked away from the hospital without permission and was seen later that evening at a grocery store on Riverside Drive, sheriff’s officials said. Investigators believe he traveled via the Capital Metro bus system and used the Internet at an Austin public library. www.statesman.com/news/news/crime-law/us-marshals-arson-suspect-caught-after-austin-stat/nrDJZ/
