Nebraska Sen. Sasse says Trump could still be stopped at conventionOne of the leading Republican opponents to Donald Trump’s ascension as the party’s presidential front-runner suggested on Friday that it’s still possible to nominate a different candidate at the national party convention in July. U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse, of Nebraska, headlined a Polk County GOP dinner in West Des Moines on Friday night, delivering a wide-ranging speech that focused more heavily on conservative philosophy than policy or politics to a couple hundred party activists.
