Former New Jersey postal worker admits stealing $443,000 in tax refund checksA sticky-fingered former mail carrier admitted to stealing $443,000 in tax refund checks along his route in New Jersey. The 47-year-old former postal worker, Earl Champagne, pleaded guilty Friday to theft of U.S. mail and stealing government money. Champagne carried mail in Pennsauken, N.J., and would pocket the tax refund checks and give them to other people, prosecutors say he admitted.
