GLOUCESTER CITY – A man is behind bars after he tossed a Molotov cocktail at a Gloucester City police vehicle, authorities said.
Police said they arrested Jose E. Rodriguez, 28, of South Sussex Street after he set the SUV on fire about 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the police headquarters parking lot. Rodriguez ignited the incendiary device and smashed it against the side of a marked Ford Explorer, police said.
Officers extinguished the blaze, which caused minor damage to the vehicle.
Police said Rodriguez was still standing in the parking lot when they arrived.
