Non-unionized state employees still waiting on word about pay raiseThere are some management decisions happening within state government that have non-unionized commonwealth employees wondering what the heck is going on. For months, they consistently have been told – or learned through the media – that no decision has been made about whether they would be getting the same 2.25 percent raise or lump sum payment that unionized employees received on Jan. 1. Based on a response received on Wednesday from the governor's Office of Administration, that is still the case. Asked via email, as requested by a spokesman for that office, to explain the reasoning behind the inability to make a decision about whether to give these 13,000 commonwealth employees a raise, the response provided was "No decision has been made at this time."
