An Orlando-based partnership of defense giants Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman landed a $116.7 million contract last week to build radar systems that support the Apache helicopter for India's military. Of the final amount, the contract awards $57.1 immediately. The contract calls for the Longbow partnership to produce 12 radar systems and spares for a fleet of helicopters. The Longbow Fire Control Radar system integrates with the Apache AH-64E, helping crews locate, detect and classify targets.
