KKK fliers in Goose Creek neighborhoods violated ordinance, police say
Recruiting fliers for the Ku Klux Klan were thrown around some neighborhoods in Goose Creek over the weekend.
Police were involved because the fliers violated a city ordinance that bans distribution of handbills, Maj. John Grainger said.
Fliers were reported in front yards in Foxborough and Friar’s Grove on Sunday morning, according to the incident report. The handbills were in plastic bags weighted down with rice, apparently so they could be thrown from a moving vehicle.
Police noted that the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office had also reported KKK fliers off College Park Road.
