Barrington High School graduate suffers fatal head injury at University of IllinoisA 2013 graduate of Barrington High School died Wednesday from a traumatic head injury in downstate Urbana, according to the Champaign County coroner. A student with the University of Illinois at Urbana — Champaign, Bret Vogt, 21, was found lying unconscious along Goodwin Street near University Avenue in Urbana early Tuesday morning and later was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon, said Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup. On Friday, his mother, Judy Vogt, said he had donated seven of his organs to numerous people through Gift of Hope, an organ tissue donating network based in Itasca. She recalled her son's love for recreation, how he learned to fish through family trips and how he played junior hockey for the Wisconsin Rampage. "He helped save lives by donating his lungs, heart, pancreas, intestine and kidneys," Judy Vogt said.
