Civil suit filed against ex-Naperville teacher accused of sex assault
The mother of a 16-year-old boy who authorities say was sexually abused by a former Naperville middle school teacher on New Year's Day has filed a 12-page civil suit against the teacher.
According to the suit, the mother is seeking more than $50,000 for intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, willful and wanton misconduct and sexual assault.
"It's so unfortunate that these cases of adults taking advantage of children are so rampant in the news these days," said attorney Peter DeLongis, who filed the suit late Thursday in DuPage County. "We intend to litigate this case to its full potential to make sure this mother and her son are compensated for the emotional damage this night caused."
Christine Taylor, 44, of the 1100 block of Spring Garden Circle, Naperville, is free on $150,000 bail, charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from the allegations.
