INDIANAPOLIS — Hoosiers attending this summer's Indiana State Fair will be permitted to purchase and drink alcohol during evening concerts at the Free Stage on all 17 days of the annual agricultural exhibition. Beer and wine also will be available during non-student events at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand, including the motorcycle, rodeo, jousting, monster truck and horse racing competitions, as well as the demolition derby. Fair spokeswoman Lesley Gordon said the expanded alcohol access comes "in response to customer demand and in an effort to improve the customer experience." Fairgoers have clamored for drinking areas other than the Grand Hall, which is home to the popular Indiana Beer, Wine and Spirits exhibition highlighting the state's microbreweries, farm wineries and craft distilleries.
