How do you get a Rhode Island General Assembly grant? Although the state is spending $13.9 million this year on two different sets of grants awarded by lawmakers, there is no advertisement for the funding stream, no web page describing the goals of the grants, and no posting that tells Ocean State charities how to apply. As you might expect, knowing your state senator or representative is the obvious place to start. With hearings on the grants expected to start next week and renewed scrutiny of the spending brought on by an investigation of former House Finance Committee Chairman Raymond E.
