Malloy: "The Budget That's Been Put Together is the Right Budget"
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy urged lawmakers to approve the budget proposal when they convene for a special legislative session next week.
"I think the budget that's been put together is the right budget,'' Malloy told reporters at a brief news conference on Friday. "It meets...everyone's criteria. It lessen s our expenditures."
Lawmakers are expected to come in next week and vote on the spending package.
Malloy also made a pitch for his Second Chance initiative, which would overhaul bail and change the way 18-year-old offenders are handled by the criminal justice system.
