Ignite: After Dark canceled over sexual content, liquor law woesA local storytelling event known for enlightening its audience about what goes on behind closed doors was canceled Tuesday in response to warnings that its content might put the event's venue at risk of losing its liquor license. Ignite: After Dark, which was preparing to present its fourth show in Fort Collins, was set for Friday night at Fusion Night Club before being alerted of the state liquor code, which prohibits the use of sexual images and depictions of nudity and various acts, among other things. According to Nick Armstrong, a co-organizer of the event, Ignite: After Dark events are made up of about a dozen presenters who speak on various NC-17 or X-rated topics in educational and enlightening ways. The presentations are vetted beforehand to make sure there's no hate speech and ensure that the content isn't "explicitly smutty." "Edgy? Sure," Armstrong said. "But not smutty." The event, which has put on three successful shows in town, is ticketed and only open to those 21 or older.
