Allowing doctors to recommend medical marijuana, Bill 523, would be a historic change for Ohio.ast November, a proposed constitutional amendment to legalize marijuana for both recreational and medical use was shot down by voters. The use of medical marijuana has been approved in 24 other states and the District of Columbia. 1. Doctors have to report who they recommend it toPhysicians would be required by law to make regular reports on who is using marijuana and what condition it is used for. 2. RestrictionsMedical marijuana would only be allowed to be consumed through vapors or edibles. The bill would prohibit any smoking of the herb. The patient must have one of the 20 medical conditions to qualify for a recommendation. Patients are not allowed to home grow any of the plants and have to go to a state designated outlet to buy it.
