Sidney and Lois Eskenazi donate $15 million to Indiana University Art MuseumPhilanthropists Sidney and Lois Eskenazi are donating $15 million to the Indiana University Art Museum, the largest cash gift given to the museum since its opening in Bloomington in 1982, the university announced Wednesday. Along with the gift, the museum will be getting a new name to honor its donors: the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art. The Eskenazis also will donate nearly 100 works of art from their personal collection. Most of these are European and American prints from the 20th century and include pieces by Spanish artist Joan Miró. IU is contributing another $20 million for a complete renovation of the museum. The new design, by Susan T. Rodriguez of Ennead Architects of New York City and Browing Day Mullins Dierdorf of Indianapolis, is slated to be complete by 2020.
