BOISE – Idaho’s state agency responsible for inspecting and certifying hospitals and other health care facilities still has a backlog – even after four surveyor positions were added last year. “It seems like we’re not making the progress I was hoping for,” Sen. Dan Schmidt, D-Moscow, told Health and Welfare official Tamara Prisock on Wednesday morning. “I wish I could report that we have made more progress too,” responded Prisock, who is licensing and certification division administrator.
