The Nebraska Tourism Commission on Friday suspended Director Kathy McKillip with pay.
McKillip, who has been under fire after a critical state audit of her agency, was told to turn in her keys and files while the commission investigates further.
Chairman John Chapo of Lincoln declined to say why McKillip was suspended and not fired, calling it a personnel issue.
“We can’t share any details,” he said, but promised commissioners are on top of it.
