INDIANOLA, Ia. — The Warren County Courthouse is no longer habitable for the use of the judicial system and court employees are at risk, says Chief Judge Arthur Gamble of Iowa's Fifth Judicial District Gamble told Warren County supervisors this week that if the county doesn’t act soon the court will begin a process to compel the county to adhere to Iowa law, which requires counties to provide suitable court facilitates. Gamble said he wants the county and courts to work together on a solution — but he emphasized that the county needs to come up with a suitable timeline for repairs to the courthouse. A $35 million bond referendum, which would have allowed the supervisors to borrow money to build a new justice center, failed earlier this month.
