Hillary Clinton cancels Mercer County Community College event
WEST WINDSOR >> Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton has opted to campaign in sunny California rather than Mercer County Community College (MCCC).
Clinton’s campaign announced Sunday that the former secretary of the state canceled her scheduled appearance Thursday afternoon at the community college’s West Windsor campus “due to scheduling change.” Clinton, who is looking to become the country’s first female president, is keeping her engagement at Rutgers University on Wednesday.
Polls show Clinton with large leads on challenger Bernie Sanders in both New Jersey and California ahead of the June 7 primaries.
Following Clinton’s announcement last week to visit MCCC for a campaign stop, Mercer County Democratic Chair Liz Muoio announced she was “thrilled.”
