Former victims of Financial Resources Management Ponzi scheme targeted againMEREDITH — The Financial Resources Management scandal has again reared its ugly head, just eight months before one of the originally convicted fraudsters is scheduled to be released from a federal prison. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that a former Texas man has pleaded guilty to scamming victims of the FRM Ponzi scheme out of more than $625,000. Ronald Mason, 47, has admitted he committed mail fraud by sending letters via the U.S. Postal Service to more than 100 people already defrauded by FRM, inviting them to invest in a Concord condominium project. According to a statement released on behalf of U.S. Attorney Emily Rice, in October 2004, Mason was sentenced by a U.S. District Court in Northern Texas to 33 months in prison, and three years of supervised release.
