Georgia Democrats call Trump “a fraud” in national press call
Georgia Democrats took to the national stage Friday to bash presumptive Donald Trump, using a press call arranged by the Democratic National Committee to call the GOP presidential nominee “erratic,” “dangerous” and “unfit” to lead the nation on military and veterans’ issues.
The call, which featured Georgia House Minority Leader Stacey Abrams, Vietnam War veteran and Purple Heart recipient Sen. Ed Harbison, D-Columbus and Vietnam Veteran Mike Rasbury, came as Democrats nationally have made hay over questions about Trump’s fundraising for veterans causes.
It also follows reports of an Iraq war veteran claiming she was fired by Trump University because she needed two days a month off in order to serve in the Army Reserve. The claim came in a deposition unsealed this week as part of a federal class action lawsuit accusing the school of fraud.
A spokeswoman for the Trump Organization has called the claim “completely meritless.”
The sum of the 23-minute call? “Donald Trump is a fraud,” said Rasbury, who also took the national Republican Party to task over its treatment of Democratic lawmakers.
