FRANKFORT, Ky. - Gov. Matt Bevin on Friday appointed three new members to the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. In late April Bevin issued an order abolishing the racing commission he inherited from his predecessor Steve Beshear and created a new one with 15 members. But at the time Bevin named just 12 members to the new commission. Friday's order fills out the panel. A news release from Bevin's office says the new members are: Foster Northrop, of Crestwood, an equine veterinarian who practices primarily on thoroughbred racehorses at Churchill Downs, Keeneland and Palm Meadows in Boynton Beach, Florida. A graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, Northrop serves on the American Association of Equine Practitioners Racing Committee and previously served on the Grayson Jockey Club Research Advisory Committee. His term expires April 27, 2018. Kiki Courtelis, of Georgetown, the chief executive officer of Town and Country Farms where she oversees breeding, racing, sales, investment opportunities and other farm operations. Courtelis is a business graduate of Barry University. Her term expires April 27, 2020.
