Ohio Democrats see path to the governor's office littered with what-ifs
CLEVELAND -- When your party has lost six of the last seven elections for governor of Ohio, it's never too early to plan for the next one.
And despite a whole lot of uncertainties, that's exactly what the state Democratic Party is doing.
As is almost always the case for Democrats in nonpresidential years, the odds against them are daunting.
And if you make the reasonable, albeit far from certain, assumption that a Democrat will live in the White House in 2018, the chance of Democrats breaking their Ohio losing streak becomes even longer.
