Rutledge approves ballot initiative that would legalize casinos in 3 Arkansas countiesArkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge on Wednesday approved wording for a ballot initiative that would legalize casino gaming in three counties. Attorney Cal McCastlain of Dover Dixon Horne PLLC requested certification of the proposed constitutional amendment’s popular name and ballot title, seeking to legalize the form of gaming in Boone, Miller and Washington counties. If the initiative receives the necessary 84,859 signatures for it to be on the November ballot, it would then be up to voters to decide on the opening of three casinos, each operated by limited liability companies. The deadline for signatures is July 8. In May, Rutledge rejected a similar request from McCastlain on the grounds that it was ambiguous in language. www.arkansasonline.com/news/2016/jun/01/rutledge-approves-ballot-initiative-proposing-3-ca/?f=news-politics
