Four Colorado health insurance companies, including Rocky Mountain Health Plans, retrenched for 2017 by reducing or eliminating individual plans on the state’s health-insurance exchange. Rocky Mountain Health Plans, the Grand Junction-based insurer, will continue to offer coverage to individuals through the state exchange through its Monument Health offering. About 10,000 Western Slope policy holders outside Mesa County, however, will have to look to a single carrier, Anthem, for coverage. Under the rules of the exchange, insurers that withdraw from the exchange must wait five years before they can again offer products on it.
