SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors have charged the governor’s half-brother with eight counts of sexual exploitation, enticement of a minor and other crimes.
Court records show prosecutors filed charges Tuesday against 56-year-old Paul Gordon Peters, who was arrested last week.
Authorities say Peters was chatting online with a police detective who pretended to be a 13-year-old girl. Peters was arrested in Provo where the two agreed to meet.
Peters did not appear to have an attorney Tuesday and was still being held in the Utah County jail. The Utah County Public Defender’s office said they were not handling Peters’ case.
