After shots fired outside courthouse, Springfield police say public was 'in no danger'SPRINGFIELD -- No arrests have been made and no injuries were reported following a report of shots fired late Friday morning outside the State Street building that houses Hampden County Juvenile Court and Western Housing Court. Police said witnesses described seeing what appeared to be "minors" with a handgun. "Not sure what they were shooting at, if they were just shooting in the air," Sgt. John M. Delaney said of the incident, reported around 11:30 a.m. Delaney said one of four men possibly involved -- who he described as having dreadlocks and wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt -- was seen running in the direction of Worthington Street.
