INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The state of Indiana will lend financial assistance to those who add a severe weather safe-room to their homes.
A program run by the state Department of Homeland Security can offer homeowners an up to $4,500 rebate after such a room is built, but the state has capped the number of rebates it will issue at 53.
Any safe room must pass a state inspection and meet national disaster guidelines for a refund to be issued.
