Gov. John Bel Edwards said Louisiana is standing by Florida in the wake of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. Early Sunday morning a gunman opened fire in a gay nightclub in Orlando, killing 50 people and injuring at least 53. "This is a senseless tragedy of unimaginable scale," Edwards said in a statement. "In the face of adversity, as we always do, we stand united against acts of terrorism that threaten our people and our way of life." Edwards extended condolences to the survivors and families of victims killed in the shooting.
