Body cam video shows paralyzing injury; civil suit filed against La Junta officerEarlier this week, a complaint was filed in U.S. District Court by the McDivitt Law Firm on behalf of Donovan Duran, an MMA fighter who contends that excessive force on the part of a La Junta Police Department officer left him partially paralyzed. Now, officer body camera footage of the December 2015 arrest incident is public, following a Colorado Open Records Act request filed with the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office by The Denver Post. In April, an Otero County grand jury declined to indict Sgt. Vincent Fraker — named in the civil suit along with the city of La Junta — and another officer for their actions.
