ALBANY – Legislative leaders and Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday night were moving closer to an agreement that would strip lawmakers convicted of a felony of their public-funded pensions and install new regulations on campaign-finance spending. The sides started to coalesce around an agreement in the final hours of what was supposed to be the end of the legislative session for the year, capping a flurry of deals at the Capitol. But as the sides worked into the night, the Assembly indicated it would return for session on Friday morning, and it appeared the Senate would do the same – extending the session at least one more day. Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, D-Bronx, vowed Thursday that the pension forfeiture bill would be adopted.
