State Supreme Court agrees to hear Clarke's appeal in records caseThe Wisconsin Supreme Court has agreed to hear a public records dispute involving an immigrant advocacy group and Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. The group, Voces de la Frontera, sued last year after Clarke denied its requests for uncensored immigration hold requests sent to Clarke's office by the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A circuit judge and the Court of Appeals ruled for Voces, but after the latter decision in April, Clarke petitioned the Supreme Court for review. Last week came notice that the high court would take the case. Voces executive director Christine Neumann-Ortiz said she was surprised.
