Former Oklahoma state Senate leader resentenced on bribery countFormer state Senate leader Mike Morgan was resentenced Tuesday to 18 months in federal prison in a bribery case. U.S. District Judge Robin Cauthron announced his punishment during a 12-minute hearing in Oklahoma City federal court. Morgan, now 61, had sought only "months ... not years" in prison. Prosecutors had asked for at least 41 months in prison. The judge originally sentenced Morgan in 2013 to five years on probation. A federal appeals court in November ordered the judge to resentence him, calling probation "little more than a slap on the wrist."
