Ricketts, Nebraska HHS chief unveil plan to make agency more customer-focused, effective and efficientLINCOLN — Nebraska’s top health and human services official joined Gov. Pete Ricketts on Monday to unveil a plan for improving the performance of the state’s largest agency. Courtney Phillips, CEO of the Health and Human Services Department, said the plan would guide the agency’s efforts to improve services and better manage resources during the fiscal year ending June 2017. “It’s an important part of our effort to set priorities, foster collaboration and develop tools to hold ourselves accountable to the public and those that we serve,” she said. Ricketts said the new plan fits with his aim of operating state government in a more businesslike manner.
