YAKIMA, Wash. -- The first of its kind large-scale effort in Yakima to house the chronically homeless who are now living in tents along East Chestnut Avenue is underway. More than 30 of those living there could begin moving into rental units by August under a year-long voucher program, said Tim Sullivan, who manages the homeless program for Yakima Valley Conference of Governments (YVCOG).
