CU spending $15M to fix 'frustrating' human resources, finance systemsThe University of Colorado is spending $15 million to fix its new payroll and finance systems — which have frustrated employees across CU's four campuses for the last eight months — on top of the more than $12 million it spent implementing them last year. Employees from all four campuses and CU's system administration worked for more than two years to update the university's human resources and finance software, a project dubbed "Elevate" by campus leaders. But when they rolled out the new systems last fall, problems with paychecks, billing and other functions began almost immediately. Some of that was to be expected — the campus hadn't updated those systems in more than a decade and any massive software upgrade comes with a set of challenges, CU officials said.
