The smell of smoke wafted through The 420 Club in Tacoma on Thursday afternoon.
Barbecue smoke, mostly.
On the final day Washington allowed medical marijuana dispensaries to remain open, staff at the collective at 1912 Center St. threw a party. Hot dogs and hamburgers were there for the taking, along with chips and other munchies.
A few straggling patients made their way in looking for marijuana, but The 420 Club ran out about 2 p.m., keeping a short supply on hand so as to not run afoul of the law.
Other medical marijuana dispensaries remained open around Tacoma, planning to see their operations through to the very end.
