Senate bill that clears up issues concerning special examination of cities is signed into lawA bill that impacts the way the State Auditor’s Office handles special examinations of cities has been signed into law by Governor Matt Bevin. Senate Bill 168 was formed to clear up ambiguities in Kentucky law concerning special examinations of municipalities. Gov. Bevin signed the bill Wednesday, granting the State Auditor the right to conduct examinations and bill cities for the costs. The bill, sponsored by Senator Stephen West of Paris and co-sponsored by Pulaski Senator Chris Girdler, was inspired in part by actions taken last year by Somerset government officials.
