Summer in Laramie brings a certain lull — thousands of University of Wyoming students leave town for home or vacation. Campus becomes a little less lively, but the UW Police Department stays just as busy.
Chief Mike Samp said while some types of police calls drop, others go up.
“We see less alcohol-related crimes, but as a result, we get more calls about juveniles,” he said.
UW hosts several high school summer camps and schools. Samp said some of these younger students can bring some trouble.
