A sonic boom caused shattered windows across the small town of Globe, about 100 miles north of Tucson. An Air National Guard F-16 pilot who took off from the Tucson International Airport unintentionally broke the sound barrier during a training mission, an Air Force spokeswoman said in a statement. "Since this incident, the wing has received reports of property damage in the region. Residents or businesses who believe they have suffered property damage as a result of this event can file a claim by calling (520) 954-0146. While training is a vital part of the 162nd Wing's mission, ensuring positive environmental stewardship is of paramount importance," the statement concluded.
