Ohio Gov. John Kasich today took a stab at clearing his desk of some of the mountain of bills passed by the frantic lame-duck session of the General Assembly. The second-term Republican signed 17 bills into law largely crafted by the GOP majority in the House and Senate. Among the bills signed by Kasich were measures to: -- Allow Ohioans with concealed-carry permits to carry guns on college campuses and other locations, if local authorities approve. Active-duty military also can carry guns without permits. (Am. Sub. SB 199). -- Create a Tax Expenditure Review Committee to review $8 billion in tax breaks handed out by the state each year (Am.
