University of Missouri media professor Melissa Click, who was caught on camera calling for "muscle" to remove a student journalist from a November protest, was charged with third degree assault for her involvement in student protests — more than two months after the heated encounter, authorities announced. Columbia city prosecutor Steve Richey filed the municipal court complaint Monday against the 45-year-old Click. Click faces a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by up to 15 days in jail and a $300 fine, for requesting the removal of student journalist Mark Schierbecker during demonstrations over racism on campus, the Columbia Tribune reports. That day's demonstrations came after the university system's president and the Columbia campus' chancellor resigned amid protests over what some saw as indifference to racial issues.
