Officer indicted for using Taser on Prairie View city councilmanA Prairie View police officer who used a stun gun on a city councilman in October has been indicted on a misdemeanor charge of official oppression, according to authorities. Eli Rivera, chief investigator for the Waller County District Attorney's Office, said Monday that Prairie View officer Michael Kelley was indicted for official oppression. Kelley was indicted Friday in Waller County, according to the Associated Press. Kelley couldn't immediately be reached for comment. A call to the Prairie View Police department was not answered Monday afternoon, but Chief Larry Johnson told the Associated Press that arrangements were being made for Kelly to turn himself in.
