Those hoping to see some of the Patriots best players in Hawaii will be disappointed.
Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Malcolm Butler, Jamie Collins, Chandler Jones, Matthew Slater and Stephen Gostkowski have all withdrawn their names from the 2015 Pro Bowl, which is played on Sunday. That leaves the Patriots with no representatives in the NFL’s version of the all-star game.
The Patriots finished the season with several players dealing with bumps and bruises and it looks like they start their vacation soon. Perhaps no more than Brady, who was hit 20 times on Sunday. Gronkowski (back/knee), Collins (back), Jones (toe/abdomen) and Slater (shin) all finished the season on the injury report.
Gronkowski was replaced by Cleveland Browns tight end Gary Barnidge. Rookie quarterback Jameis Winston took Brady’s spot on the roster. Ezekiel Ansah takes Jones’ place; Josh Brown replaces Gostkowski; Cedric Peerman will play for Slater; Anthony Barr gets the nod for Collins and Dominique Rodgers Cromartie takes Butler’s spot.
