WAUSAU - Employees of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Wausau are on track to move to a new office building with help from city tax incentives. Wausau City Council members voted unanimously Tuesday to allow nearly $5 million in tax refunds to Liberty Mutual over six years, tied to the new development. The company plans to invest $50 million in the property at 2101 West Bridge St., just west of U.S. 51. A new building would be about 150,000 square feet and hold the company's existing Wausau employees. They now work in space sold to Aspirus last fall and leased by Liberty Mutual. Liberty Mutual is one of Wausau's largest employers with nearly 900 employees and a total annual payroll above $54 million, according to city documents.
