About 500 Craig High School students in Janesville absent at start of school day after bomb threatJANESVILLE—Nearly 40 percent of Craig High School students were absent at the start of school Wednesday as school officials reacted to a bomb threat discovered Tuesday. In a voicemail message to parents, school officials said the bomb threat reported Tuesday morning warranted a principal-excused absence Wednesday if Craig parents did not wish to send their children to school, said Donna Klingaman, district communications specialist. School officials declined Wednesday to give more information about the threat, saying only that the threat was deemed to have low credibility and that a school search yielded nothing, communications coordinator Patrick Gasper said. Students who attended school were subject to a backpack search, but nothing was found, Gasper said.
