JERSEY CITY -- A Lincoln High School basketball coach was ripped from his car and threatened with death over playing time for the upper-class members of his team, authorities said. The coach, whose name is not being published because he is the victim of a crime, reported the incident Monday night on Brinkerhoof Street, just feet from the school, according to a police report. At about 8:20 p.m., police were called to the area on reports of an armed robbery. When they arrived they were unable to locate a victim, the report states. Moments later, the coach walked into the West District police station, about three blocks from the school, and told police he was inside his car when a masked man holding a crowbar forced him to the ground, the report states.
